Changing times at the Clayton Hotel Cork City

Ongoing investment in facilities at Clayton Hotel Cork City

To date, more than €1 million has been invested in the refurbishment at the Dalata Hotel Group’s Clayton Hotel Cork City on Lapps Quay in Cork.  With 100 bedrooms recently renovated to the Clayton bedroom standard with new 42” widescreen TV’s and the introduction of the Red Bean Roaster Café with its exclusive Clayton coffee beans, further significant changes are now underway at the hotel including the extensive upgrading of the Atrium area.  The hotel now boasts 201 bedrooms consisting of standard superior rooms, executive rooms, river-view balcony rooms and apartments, mineral water in all rooms, complimentary WiFi with 300MB Internet bandwidth and the amazing Clayton bed which is the Club Pocket 1400 Pillow Top.

A regular meeting place and hub for businesses, the Atrium will be fully refurbished in the coming month and will see the introduction of snugs and other meeting-friendly changes.  The restaurant and bar area of the hotel will also see a major face-lift and re-brand to Globe Restaurant and Bar, which will be a bistro-style eatery, serving steak and artisan dishes with an emphasis on produce sourced locally from the renowned food emporium, The English Market.

“We continue to invest in the Clayton Hotel Cork City to ensure that this already popular 4 star hotel in the city centre remains the preferred choice for both business and leisure visitor and traveler,” said Conor O’Toole, General Manager at the Clayton Hotel Cork City.  “We have a great team and thanks to our parent group, we are in a position now to invest significantly to drive standards here even higher to ensure our place as the market leader in Cork for accommodation, dining, leisure club, conferencing and meetings.  The new Globe Restaurant & Bar will be a great addition to the hotel and we look forward to welcoming diners throughout the day every day.”

The Dalata Hotel Group acquired the hotel in October 2016, and re-branded the busy hotel to the Clayton Hotel Cork City with an announcement of a €2 million investment at the property on Lapps Quay, Cork. The Clayton Hotel Cork City remains open throughout the refurbishment works, and the positive changes are already proving popular with traveler and visitors to the hotel.  Further renovations will continue during the year, with the next phase of renovation and upgrading focused on the conferencing facilities at the hotel.
